I developer plantar fasciitis, which hasn't subsided even after 1 year.

Most can tell you are wearing lifts as it alters your gait and looks disproportionate (even if you wear long baggy pants). You cannot run in an emergency.

I used to wear 2.5-3'' lift boots as a 6'1 manlet, standing at 6'3-4.
People would always stare at me, first at my face, then at my feet.
It was not inconspicuous enough. Now I don't wear lifts.

Now I only wear timberland boots with no lifts.

This means I am comfortable, can run in an emergency and I no longer have plantar fasciitis.
