With me the story was somewhat similar. I had a gf when I was a teen, but it was a lucky strike (just be first?), and women usually weren't interested in me, I would never have girls flirt with me or come up and try to strike up actual full-on conversation. Then between 19 and 21yo I started to look multiple times better and many women were showing interest, but for embarrassingly long time I had no idea what it means and what to do, and very often tended to not believe it ("she can't really be interested, she's just being nice to me"). It's way better now, but I needed lots of time, straightforward interest and actual lays for it to finally break to my head; and as said before I'm still having situations where this shit shows up, where I just can't escalate unless I'm 100% sure and woman initiates.

Not to mention I see many guys here being like that too. People straight up not believing in IOIs and thinking you either have bitches throw themselves at you or you're an incel, no inbetweens. Honestly it's pretty sad, I truly believe a big part of users here could do so much better
