One color represents negative energy and the other positive energy
It obviously cancels out, and the universe is an expression of nothingness
A disturbance caused the fluctuation of nothingness to an illusion of somethingness to nothingness again repeating over and over again.
Whatever positive or negative side of y you deem as the determiner of whether the negative or positive energy is visible stays constant throughout and changes the universes from being one where the negative energy is visible or the positive energy is visible
This is pretty obvious and a midwit tier thought but i just wanted to add on

Sort of, the big crunch is hypothesized to be a rapid contraction, but a "collapse" like you said. I don't know a ton about this though tbhngl
