Everyday all type of human/animal tissues (including foreskin, umbilical cord, placenta) are used for numerous research, some being more aesthethic oriented than others. Science in its current state is willing to cross the line and will not easily be stopped by specific moral rules.
Personally, I don't think I could raise my eyebrows at this specific information knowing there's a huge phenomenom going on and that this data is a tiny piece of result of such. If I were to be shocked by this then should also be equally as concerned about a larger amount of research and technology going on. Regardless, of what I may find right or wrong, I'm not shocked. These cells happened to produce growth factors and components that help skin and it's meant to happen that people who are paid for this will lunch a marketable product as it means money, recognition, career advancements among other things... that if someone doesn't want to take, then someone else will.
I feel like once you're in the field you really can't easily back off.

Apparently this was from an article in the 2000s. Since then, science has advanced. Imagine what kind of stuff they use now. Perhaps they use aborted foetuses and even placenta nowadays.
