I used 0.02% tretinoin after microneedling at a depth of 0.3MM.
I'm new to both tretinoin and microneedling, I was just using microneedling near my hairline for minoxidil, but I thought the same principle of absorption could be applied to my face where I apply tretinoin.
Well 5 minutes later I was doing some research and I found out this is something you must ABSOLUTELY not do, because tretinoin is already a harsh chemical, and damaging the skin could cause some bad reactions and irritation.
So I washed off as much of my face as I could...
I'm pretty worried right now, will this cause permanent scarring, like I see online?? See: granulomas. When would this effect appear?
I'm stopping tretinoin usage for 7 days just to monitor and make sure my skin fully heals from the microneedling.

No you'll be fine just make sure your skin is used to the tretinoin % and the next day u don't use a exfoliator I've been using tretinoin with microneedling for a year now no issues but yeah it will cause hell alota peeling also if your barrier is already damaged ie your skin stings or burns dont microneedle until it restores

Thanks. I'll still go with no tret for 7 days just to make sure.

Oh yeah and start wearing sunscreen

You'll be fine. Sure, using tret straight after microneedling isn't ideal because it can obviously cause you some excessive irritation, but you won't have any permanent scarring, especially since it's 0.3mm, a pretty shallow depth. Just make sure you use a gentle moisturiser, maybe something with ceramides to help heal your barrier? And yeah, make sure you use SPF of some kind and avoid any actives for now
