First of all, here’s a big fat “fuck you” to everyone who convinced me k-pop fans were post-wall, deathnik femcels. I really fell for your BS. I was the only post-wall deathnik femcel there.
There were so many jbs there, it was crazy. Easily hundreds of girls and only a handful of dudes. Most of these girls were not only white, they were also MTB - HTB.
I was worried that my presence would make the other attendees uncomfortable since I’m an unattractive brown dude in his late 20s but thankfully they weren’t. They felt more than comfortable around me and it showed.
I was the only person attending the show without any company. Everyone else was with their friends, family or their lovers. Most attendees were just female friend groups. I even saw a cute hijabi. They must have thought how weird and pathetic I was for being by myself.
Strangely enough, I wasn’t the only non-white guy there. I saw a brown teenage dude and I also saw a couple of black dudes and just like me they didn’t seem the type of dudes to listen to this type of music.
Needless to say, I enjoyed the show and I’m glad I went. One more thing, k-pop shows are super expensive. I paid €200. Compare that to the metalcore show I paid €30 for. Where I once again was out of place as being the brown muzzie guy. Some things never change!
