All my life it's usually taken me 1 hour+ to fall asleep. Sometimes 2 hours. Recently it seems to be taking longer than it had the months before

I think falling asleep fast is either a sign of extreme serenity and a meditative state (very rare), or stupidity and a lack of thinking (very common)

You just gotta exhaust your thinking pattern before sleeping.

I am an overthinker and thinking a lot about stuff makes me sleep quicker

The problem is that you have more energy than you spent during the day > you spend it while you lie around and mess around > your sleep time has moved by +1 hour and that's it, you either have to get tired at work or figure out how to get tired yourself

secret is to exhaust yourself with exercice during the day, social interactions can exhaust you too
Taking the right supplements
Good meal timing with foods that reduce anxiety
good pre-bed routine with books, journaling
and I have a bit of antipsychotic but they probably don't do that much now since I'm accustomed to it
also eye mask, earbuds, blue light glasses

I'm a professional sleeper now

I do wear earplugs cos I'm an extremely light sleeper
Still get woken up by noise sometimes
Used to wear an eye mask too but stopped
