fatpads are the thickness of your skin u may be lean but you most likely have very thick skin

bieber is similar bf in these pics yet looks much more mature and defined in the second pic cause he lost his juvenile fatpads

anyways, losing fatpads affects the undereyes too but it depends on the strength of the undereyes

if you have undereyes made of bone you will age well, hollow undereyes not so much...
