growing up in the 80s and being in high school in the 90s would be great tbh
i could see the internet slowly but surely become popular
i could witness online gaming become a thing
tbh i'm not old enough to remember the 90s but i've been watching youtube videos on them and it just seemed like a better time, phones weren't really a thing and social media was just starting out
the internet seemed a lot better to, it was just fresh and new at the time and it was about exploration and finding different ircs and forums with your interests
nowadays everyone just uses like the same 8 or 9 sites because jewgle and facebook have a monopoly

The 90s sucked. Just think about how things are now, but 10 times as boring. And all the establisments were always playing that Kiss from a Rose song by Seal. If you had come of age in the 90s you would have been living in the shadow of the 80s. The 70s and 80s were when all the fun took place. The 90s were when things started getting gay and boring.
