Europe is so boring, every day feels the same. same buildings. same faces. same fake calm energy. people act like they’re above everything, like caring is embarrassing. everyone’s quiet, closed off, boring. it legit feels like walking through a city full of NPCs on autopilot.

there’s nothing to do. and when there is something, it’s weak. parties are awkward as fuck. people just stand around holding drinks, barely talking, music low, zero energy. nobody lets loose. nobody wants to be the one having fun. it’s all ironic distance and pretending you’re not trying.

social life here is trash. people don’t talk to strangers. nobody approaches anyone. if you try to be open or friendly, you feel weird for it. like you broke some unspoken rule. dating’s the same. cold vibes. no flirting culture. no excitement. it feels like everyone already gave up before even starting

and yeah, i know people love to say europe is “cultured” or whatever, but that shit feels empty. culture doesn’t mean anything when life feels this muted. i don’t want museums and cafes, i want moments. stories. chaos. something that actually sticks.

then you look at the US and it’s just depressing. campuses that actually feel alive. big sports, football games, packed crowds, school pride. being on a team. adrenaline. girls actually showing energy, cheering, flirting, having fun. people aren’t scared to be loud or cringe or excited.

here it feels like life is already over. like everyone decided this is it. study, work, sleep, repeat. no big highs, no real memories, just time passing.

i don’t want this. i don’t want to look back and realize my early 20s were spent in a place where nothing happened. i want a life that feels full, even if it’s messy. right now this just feels like existing, not living.

actually a really interesting perspective on the U.S.
from an american i understand what you mean but its still very location dependent

you're living 1% as much in some small midwestern town as opposed to a being fraternity member in the south or northeast

that "college experience" you think of is only for attractive people. America is a brutal unforgiving place socially as well especially for unattractive people. You're always a step or two away from being bankrupted from medical bills, being homeless, or sued for everything you own. There is no safety nets whatsoever. Its far from terrible but it really isn't all that
