I knew I had short face syndrome since I was 10 years old

When I complained to my parents about it as a kid, it was ignored, brushed aside, and worst of all, I was told to not be vain, I was made in gods image, and that “it’s what’s on the inside that counts”

Fuck man. Imagine how much less of a subhuman I could be today 8 years later if they had taken me to an ortho to get a herbst device or some shit. Instead I’m stuck with a 90 degree gonial angle and the facial depth of a pancake because my bones grew the wrong way. There’s something about having known all of my problems for so long but not being in control that makes it hurt even more than usual.
