It's a Gestalt law (Figure-ground), black light doesn't exist, it's just absence of light, the reason why you read a black text is because you can see the white color around it (which is real, because the photons are actually reaching your eyes)

Here only the faces are real, since there are actual photons reaching your eyes. The chalice only exists in your brain (Unless light has weight, I don't remember if it does tbh, then it would actually exist, but whatever, you got the point)

The same applies to texts, the black text doesn't exist
