Here is a tested and researched way i have tried to fight facial inflammation or minor bloat especially during the morning or before events.

SCROLL DOWN TO DISCLAIMER BEFORE COMMENTING WATER

For iqlets, this isnt meant for water retention, jfl.

Introduction

As we know Ibuprofen ( Ipren if ur european ) is used as a pain killer, to be exact Ibuprofen is a type of painkiller called a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

But you might be saying " BuT saAr ThE SiDe EffEcts! " or " OrAl VerSiOn DoeSn't dO AnYtHIng!! " well now i've basically hinted at it, we’re going to be using the topical version. Side effects on the topical version that are related to stomach issues are basically nonexistant ( unless you use it everyday but i will speak about this ).

How does it work?
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) even when topical ( no shit ). When we apply it topically in gel form it penetrates the outer skin layers and works by enzyme inhibition, specifically cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2). These enzymes are responsible for the production of prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is basically what causes inflammation ( a part of it ). It orchestrates the bodys inflammation response. By inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes they will not be able to react with arachidonic acid when these cant react prostaglandin cant be produced.

What are the enzymes?
COX-1 and COX-2 ( cyclooxygenase )

COX-1 / COX-2 enzymes → into prostaglandins

How?

irritation → arachidonic acid released from cell membranes.
COX enzymes turn arachidonic acid → PGH₂.
PGH₂ is converted → prostaglandins.

Very simple, now ipren basically doesn’t allow COX enzymes to react with Arachidonic Acid.

So the application of topical ipren → inhibits the COX enzymes basically.

Risks
Few risks, very minor, going to keep it short becuase i cant bother.
  • irritated skin the next day ( not usually inflammated again )
  • Shedding
  • Skin sensitivity increases
  • Can burn if ur skin barrier is fucked
  • Should burn a little bit but not a lot
  • stomach issues(?) < MINOR! >
Yeah and thats about it JFL.

Disclaimer
Idk if this method works at all or it was just placebo but it did work for me, ( even tho the research proves it works ) or atleast looked like it did. So take this in hand before u decide to say ” mOsT wAtEr ThReaD mUh eVeR .

Also people have claimed it works ( including me )

Trying doesn’t ( it lowkey does ) hurt and its common sense it reduces inflammation just depends on which sort.

feel free to ask questions.

If u ask

- When do I use it?
/ an hour before ur event or whatever.

Thats atleast what i did, it usually kicks in and you’ll notice about an hour or so.
