What’s the ideal chewing routine? 30 mins a day? 1 hour a day? And should it be every day, every other day, 3 days a week etc? How do you even progressively overload chewing?

I’ve been chewing inconsistently for like 2 weeks now, maybe a bit more I don’t remember but I been going from 30 mins to 1hr to 3 hrs just inconsistently, I’m trying to pin down the ideal routine. I chew with a bloc of mastic gum and do it for like 3 mins on each side of my jaw (my right masseter is smaller though there’s some asymmetry). Should I be switching between each side or chewing with two pieces on either side at the same time?

Also do you people know if using those rubber or whatever they’re made out of jaw trainers better for chewing, or should I stick to mastic?
Any thoughts on falim too?
Someone said this gum is better and stronger than mastic anyone know about this?

Whenever you aren't eating food or talking, chew something.

Wouldn’t that give tmj and give excessively tight masseters, especially if it’s hard gum? And doesn’t the muscle need time to rest and grow?

I never chewed too much and I have giant masseters and they look like shit :feelspepo:

Only when eating.

Slow chewing, it doesn't have to be excessively fast.
Also, it doesn't have to be intense. Just soft chewing 24/7.

Sleep :feelsautistic:
ok but even small muscles like the abs need at least a day rest from being trained, you sure just sleep is enough for the masseters?

2-4 hours then if you're worried about TMJ or related issues.
Generally, it's pretty safe if you chew slowly and mildly.

So I should still chew with mastic but more slower or switch to softer gum?

You can stick to mastic and just chew slowly.
If it starts to get painful, stop for 2-4 hours.

Have you done this yourself?

Also should I chew with both sides at the same time or switch regularly from one side to the other?

Never with the intention of masseter hypertrophy, chewing is really good for information retention.
I just slow chew for hours on end whenever I study. It will help your jaw.

I chew on both sides simultaneously.

Have you seen significant masseter growth?

Also who’s the girl in your avi?

My jaw's wide naturally, can't say I'd noticed anything.
In theory, it works.

Also who’s the girl in your avi?
Susan Dey, absolute beauty. :Comfy:

Mirin gonions
Thanks dude. :Comfy:

I am asking because I want to know if your method (constant slow chewing) vs (shorter harder faster chewing) would induce the most hypertrophy
I'd advocate for my method.
More time under tension, muscle endurance and less strain on muscles because you're not being as aggresive (less risk of injury).

Alright, I’d give it a go and see what happens. Thanks for the help
