I’ll be writing this thread with not much of a researched understanding of idealism. Please do so correct me if anything said regarding the definitions of idealism is off.
Im going to go off with the principles of idealism.
DEFINITION (google)
Idealism is a philosophical view that reality is fundamentally mental or spiritual in nature, meaning that ideas, mind, or consciousness are the most basic reality, and the physical world is dependent on or a manifestation of this mental realm.
okay, first things first; i can agree with this, our perceptions of reality can completely alter reality in an individualized sense- but there still is a “basic reality” here that should be taken into account. This would be the everything that we see, feel, perceive. And things of that nature
While idealism still confirms that those three things are just concepts, alongside reality. It doesn’t take away the fact that there is “something” that is grounded here. Something “real” which is more than just concepts and ideas.
I believe that these ideas simply exist to try and apply logic unto our grounded reality. It doesn’t mean that what i can see touch feel and yadayada are just concepts. The idea of those things are concepts, but there still is something there. Which again can be “felt” but when put into words becomes an idea/concept.
I agree that we shape our reality through human-made understandings/concepts and ideas. It’s true- we all seem to live in different realities regardless if one lacks objective logic or not.
Ofcourse, to exclaim the existence of a reality. It will always be self refuting within idealism; because it is a subjective concept. Not “reality” (heheh)
Now when it comes to God, you can very well say that many Gods exist. And that everything; is real, and it will be true ofcourse. But we can’t simply ignore objective logic just because we can think God into existence.
While he may be true, it does not mean he applies to objective logic. I understand how logic can’t be applied to “abstract ideas” but come on thats just stupid to even use as an argument then if i can’t apply logic to your abstract philosophies.
God needs to be in alignment with objective logic so that he can exist within everyone’s reality, if he doesn’t; it means that it can only apply to specific realities. Ones that ignore objective logic
OBJECTIVITY AND IDEALISM
Reality is objective, logic is something that we instinctivelt abide by and search for. We search for objectivity in things, the mere argument of objectivity and subjectivity is in search of objectivity in of itself.
Only thinking within logic and doing the utmost in the name of what is logical is objective whilst shrinking down logic in the name of personal beliefs and wants is subjective
PARADOXICAL ARGUMENTS ARE DONE IN BAD FAITH AND ARE USELESS TO ARGUE OVER
There are no conclusions, by definition paradoxical arguments cannot attain any conclusion. It is just mumbo jumbo and worthless to comment on, we all have a sense of objectiveness regardless of how paradoxical it can be in question. Logic is something valuable and it is needed to understand/make sense out of the things that surround us. To completely reject it in the name of individualized subjectivity is kind of gay
The debate about God’s existence is objective, to make a stupid abstract argument instead of arguing for how God can exist within objective logic makes no sense, the topic has nothing to do with that. ‘Most’ humans tend to consciously seek what’s logical and that is how they even come to conclusions. Again within this paradoxical argument you also must be looking for some kind of objective logical understanding to argue that God is real. Truly, this is just an extremely childish and honestly kind of corny thing to debate over and i wasted my time trying to understand how it applied to my objective thread
