If I want to thumbpull for a more projected maxilla, should I only pull forward?

I’m Asian so I have a super flat maxilla. I want to thumb pull to try and help resolve this. However thumb pulling is generally for expanding the width of the maxilla, which I don’t care too much about since I already have a pretty wide face. I just want my maxilla to stop being so flat. When thumb pulling should I only do the part where I push forward and up, and skip the lateral parts?

For reference my maxilla is like this guys maxilla except a bit flatter or more recessed or whatever

That’s genetic, the suture in your maxilla runs vertically, not horizontally, pulling forward won’t do anything
