I think all this being unloved thing you've got going on is a projection you carry from your relationship with your mother. It's like you just couldn't get past it and your brain is stuck. You think everybody thinks of you the same way. And since you approach them like this, over time they all begin to approach you in a manner that confirms your beliefs.
