I mean I have to disagree. It’s far from useless. Even if you don’t believe in them being divinely inspired but them rather being man made, they still build a sense of community among people and give them spiritual/moral guidance, which is useful.

Almost anything can create arguments. Your political views can create arguments. Your opinion on a sports team can create arguments. Your diet can even create arguments. Vegan vs meat eater has been going on for over a decade and in multiple occasions, it got violent. Arguments are bound to happen if people develop personal opinions.

The same thing can literally be said for anything, I gave you multiple examples. The political debate about what ideology is superior has been raging on for thousands of years. Ppl were debating about politics in Ancient Greece and we haven’t gotten any further.

How is it useless if it creates a meaning to life, think critically for a second, what's the meaning to life without god or a theological figure to follow? What's your justification for existing if it isn't to live a life through god? Why don't you murder, plunder, and rape? without god morality is subjective. Go and live the life of a hedon, what is stopping you from solely pursuing pleasure and pleasure only?
