It's a combination of three things
1. High stress of adult life wears them down. Most careers take the energy out of you. They're time consuming and raise your cortisol to the moon. Your body can only take so much stress and when you use that up just trying to keep up with the jones then you have nothing left in the tank for anything else.
2. No access to jb. When "success" just means a slightly more attractive hag, then what's the point? You have to be a real narcissist to keep pushing in life past 35 when prime girls are off the menu.
3. Lowering testosterone and general aging plays a role, but it's very slight. Muh "lower energy" is usually just a cope. There probably is a small drop off somewhere, but it's vastly overstated.
