People who genuinely think they can change their life in any meaningful way are deluded. You honestly think you're going to read one of Jordan Peterson's self help books, and suddenly gain 20 IQ points and become a success?

It has been shown that Social class is highly heritable, ie. you are rich because your parents were intelligent, therefore you will be intelligent and get a job that ensures you stay rich. there isn't actually any social mobility in any meaningful numbers in the West, just a few very rare cases.

Your life effectively is planned out for you from birth.
