I trained very hard and consistently throughout puberty (13-17) and even being 26 now, some of the past gains persist, despite not lifting at all.
So, I assume starting early gives you somewhat of an advantage later in life.

True. Maintaining a good physique is easy if you have good genes and naturally high T. People spend so much time stressing about muh weight loss and muh losing muscle after not exercising for two weeks. Muh not eating the right foods or not eating the right amounts and not tracking calories and macros. Blah blah blah

Chad doesn't worry about any of that and still maintains his lean muscular v-taper physique year-round with ease.
