just listen to what kind of topics they're bringing up in conversations with you
if they find you good looking, it's not about them using a specific word as a compliment - they'll just, without any hesitation, start questioning you about your relationship status/women, and/or implying "girls must like you", assuming you have a girlfriend and commenting on it, making bait comments to find out if you are single etc
in the opposite case, they'll deliberately make the conversation as dull as possible (assuming they don't find you so repulsive that they're straight going mute on whatever you say)
it's not that complicated
