Does working out for size/hypertrophy=strength?

If your aim is to get stronger, instead of bigger, will you make batter gains?

Are they the same or different?

I think different if you ego lift and go low reps high weight you'll get stronger but if you go for high reps lower weight you'll get better gains I might be stupid

you still go heavy but try and aim for 8-12 reps and make sure you achieve failure
