Very interesting indeed, great knowledgeIf he's from Haryana, this is most likely a Ror. They have the highest Steppe ancestry in South Asia (ranging between 30-40%) and some of them have this phenotype. Alternatively, he may be a Jat and they also have high Steppe ancestry. These people originated in the Indus Valley basin (modern-day Pakistan). That said, he looks very identical to a friend of mine with Afghan ancestry. They would closely cluster together on a PCA plot, too, due to their higher Steppe ancestry and lower amounts of SAHG (South Asian hunter-gatherer) ancestry.
It is indeed interesting, and thanks! I should add that they are a small population of the country, and along with the Kamboj (who were historically from eastern Iran and currently reside in both India and Pakistan), they are the only genetic outliers in India. Together, they make up not even 1% of the population.Very interesting indeed, great knowledge
I do not look this in any way, shape or form. But he does look very similar to my Afghan friend (former friend, I mean). Except his hair was a lighter shade of brown and he had almost piercing blue eyes. I guess that's because his SAHG ancestry is much lower, because even Ror and Jats score plenty of AASI (usually around 20%). I'm just guessing. This guy is how I imagine @Gengar looking
I had an taxi driver that looked like him. Tanned and less good looking (bigger nose) but he had the same eye area. I assumed he was afghan when I first saw him. He told me he came from India, which surprised me. Even Pakistan I wouldn't be surprised, because Pashtuns live there right?I do not look this in any way, shape or form.
