I'm living in a toxic family that hates me and gets mad at me constantly and stresses me out BEYOND belief
Living through poverty and physical insecurity as well
I'm 16 & have no leverage to leave and likely wont have any for the next couple of years
I've been feeling more suicidal than ever and lonely

I know that many people here have lived through something like that, if you have please give me advice on how to cope with life in a situation like that

Sorry that this is happening to you brah, I dont have much experience but I live in a pretty toxic household. The thing that helps me the most is just not being home alot. I just do varsity soccer, tutoring, and volunteering. Anything to not be in the house lol

get a job, i was working full time at 16 making more than enough to move out and live a normal life

i think you live in the uk? we dont pay taxes until 18 so youre gonna be making more than most adults who live alone if you work full time

yeah i had to go to community college too, it’s much easier than uni. if you had good grades i would’ve recommended dorming at 18 but since that’s an option i recommend getting a debit or credit card as soon as you can & buying pregab, it’ll make you really euphoric

However, my narcissistic mother thinks she's doing a good enough job at taking care of my family (She's not) and is super insecure, so to her, getting a job = me telling her she's a shitty mom that isn't doing well at raising us, hence why I need an external money source

How do you do that? I always think to myself that my best course of action is to not let them get into my head. Let them just yell at me all day long while I work on myself, but it's hard to drown out your family, the only people in your life, insulting you and make fun of you constantly.

I do, when I say that I'm unable to get one because of my mom, it's because if I disobey her and get one even though she told me not to, she will make my life miserable. She'll take away my belongings and stress me out even MORE. I couldn't care any less if she's sad that I got a job.
