I was a product of one of the earliest ivf that let you pick your kids height and Iq. So i was kinda modified in a way although the height prediction was off by two inches

Ask me anything.

My projected height was 6'6" (my dad is 6'8"), but I'm only 6'4". My projected IQ was 120; however, I don’t actually know what my IQ is because I’ve never taken a proper IQ test.”

How much did your parents have to pay for this procedure and which country was this done in?

My case is kind of special get ready for some crazy lore 😂. I’m a 2008 baby, so back then embryo screening obviously wasn’t available to normal people. It was probably in a beta or trial phase, or maybe it was only for the ultra-rich — I honestly don’t know. I knew I was an IVF baby, but it wasn’t until recently that my mother told me my embryo was actually screened.

You see, my parents worked at Illumina Inc., a company that provides technology and solutions for PGT (preimplantation genetic testing of human embryos). According to my mother, at the time they were working on making embryo screening available to the public and were doing trial runs, but it never got released for some reason.

Back then, genome sequencing for an adult cost at least 1 million USD, so maybe embryo screening was just too expensive to implement and wouldn’t have been profitable. However, now there are many embryo-screening startups that are affordable to the general population.
