braces provide a shit solution for whatever ur trying to fix because it never and i mean never actually takes into account what is causing the issue you have, which is why they make you wear a retainer for ur entire life
if ur getting the braces for straight teeth ur getting a shit temporary solution
if ur getting the braces for malloclusion/bite issues prepare to get recessed and mask the issue instead of fixing ur jaw/maxilla

the braces will always apply more pressure than ur thumbs, it will make no difference

Depends how old you are. If you are like 12 there’s appliances that can help to correct skeletal deformity.

If you’re older the best you can do is move the teeth a little, tilt them, etc.
I am in braces too, to decompensate my incisors for Bimax and to straighten some of my premolars that ended up crooked due to crowding by Wisdom teeth that didn’t fit. It’s good if you try to understand how the process works.
