Idk about stubble but u can try a beard for more contrast and if you do that you will see how a stubble is in the process. Then you can experiment with like a connected goatee or some form of beard and see if it's any better

Yeah that fits u better because the width ratio between the goate and the mustache smaler , if u do a goatee but wider on the chin so its like the same width as the mustache, it will make u look more masculine with a bigger chin width, you can also try connecting the goatee but idk it might look weird
