I‘m not surprised the west wants to divide the balkans

If everyone in the balkans, i‘m including all, southern slavic people, albanians, greeks, romanians and turks worked together, they would absolutely be a threat to the west. They don’t want to lose their power (they do have power), so they sabotage whoever is about to become more powerful. They want to keep those people poor and more important „divided“, because they would become too much of a threat if they supported each other.

It belongs to turkey , just give it to turks and it will be united

the thing is, they didn't even need to try to divide us back then when Yugoslavia existed, we divided ourselves

in fact, we didn't even divide ourselves, we WERE DIVIDED BY DEFAULT and then tried to be united for a few decades which was a mistake that costed us all a lot in the end

but yeah, divide et impera will always be the doctrine the Great Powers treat small nations, and it's not only the West - for example, Tsarist Russia fed Serbo-Bulgarian aversion and conflict in the 19th century because it was in their interest
