Well, that's a problem with many people at the bottom of the social hierarchy - even though there are many of them, they are often alone, isolated or have very few friends and they would often reject or are rejected by others who are just as low as them, because it would basically reinforce their lowly status and could block any opportunity of ascension - everyone wants to hang out with people with higher status, money or looks than them, and will reject those that are of lower status, poor, ugly, etc., because it can drag down their own image.

Tbf its shaped more like a rectangle or a cross, i was just trying to cope. Not many people have no friends. Brutal shit that low status people reject people on their level so they cant socialise with anyone.

Yes, but this behavior also has started to trickle up to the higher levels of the social pyramid, everyone is now really desperate to ascend, to appear that they are better than they really are, so they end up rejecting people that are equal or slightly lower than them, the social circles of most people are now smaller than in the old days.
