Im socially retarded and need help

There is a guy I know irl and we chat fairly a lot about stuff but im not sure if he wants to be friends with me. I invited him one time and he was happy and stuff but the day before he told me he cant come. He always says „yeah we can meet anytime“ but then he never suggests a meet up. I kinda think im a burden to ppl. I think im not made for having friends.

Lol i was in the exact situation with my friend. Was friends with him since elementary school and the second i graduated middle school and went to HS we didn't really talk. I had no friends at the time so in my 2nd year of HS i thought why not just talk to him and I did. He had a skateboard and i sorta got into skateboarding at the time so i asked to skate w him and we did. After that i kept wanting to meet up with him and either he or i had to cancel many many times and recently he told me he had an extra board and I wanted to use it and he said I can pick it up whenever and I said "can i pick it up now" and he said no bc it was raining and then just never responded to my texts after that. This happened a couple months ago and when I saw him again after that he literally ignored me irl

If this has happened atleast 3 times with no valid reason then yeah he doesn't wanna be friends
If it hasn't, ask to hang out with him sometime and when you're hanging out it'll be easy for you to decipher whether or not he wants to be your friend.

I mean, how can I have friendships when I'm way too insecure about my voice to even talk? When I'm uninteresting, and unfunny? Thankfully I have a family and siblings to talk to, a really shitty family though.

I mean im also pretty anti social but having stuff like a gym membership or going to open houses helps alot with making friends, one of my best friends i made by asking for a spot by the gym
