I live in an area where intellectualism is heavily discouraged in favor of more athletic and social activities. This isn't really a problem in my book because not everyone needs to be reading Nabokov and pondering the quality of contemporary poetry, but oh my god, listening to these people is so draining; they are so uneducated it hurts. I wouldn't necessarily be so annoyed by it if it was involuntary, but it's all by their own choice. They ignore classes, school, education, etc., to go fuck around and do dumb shit. I fervently believe that engaging in bad decisions and breaking rules in childhood and throughout your teenage years is good and constructive; however, they do it to a degree where they don't have any grounds for what rule-breaking is—just the process of doing.

I was talking to my psychiatrist about this, and she said, "Yes, I noticed that too. Most of the people here don't read at all." Like, holy shit? It's even worse when I talk about politics. I understand the idea of abstaining from politics, I genuinely do; however, how can these people be so fucking stupid? They say, "Oh, yah, brah, I voted for Trump. Kamala was a woke retard," like, okay, I understand that I'm a more left-leaning guy, but I certainly don't support Kamala and the modern Democratic Party. But as soon as I bring up policy, they go, "Ho, the fuck are you talking about? Who the fuck has time for that, brah?" Like, oh my god, these people act like half of the country is stupid for voting for a certain party, yet they don't do any research into policy or what the party wanted to achieve.

I'm by no means smart, but talking to most people here is so monotonous it's heart-wrenching. And don't get me started on the girls here, holy shit.

I don't even feel strongly about either candidate its just incredibly annoying to hear someone talk about serious political issues without knowing anything about what there talking about.

And like i said i DONT think everyone should be some smart intellectual who dedicates his life to liberal arts but seriously just being able to hold yourself in a conversation about politics or general scholarly discussion should be a must right next to being able to change a tire.

people naturally group themselves by similarity/compatibility

when you are high iq, chances are you'll find yourself surrounded with equal people without even deliberately trying to do it

same with looks. when have you seen a social circle with one chad and 5 legit subhumans?
