I think sadly it gets harder and harder to make friends as you get older. As a kid, it should be easy in general.

In school you are exposed to the same people everyday, and you usually have most classes, if not all classes together.

You don't really get the same opportunity in university lectures, and you can't really interact during university lectures as the professor is speaking the whole time.

after university, it would probably be insanely hard. People have too many responsibilities so you can't go home at eat ice cream and play fortnite with the boys.

TLDR: middle school and high school is the best time to make friends, after that it gets much harder.
