I can't see liberals backing North Korea. I might be missing something since iv been actively avoiding political discourse since the election. I think the two party system is a way for them to control thoughts and attention.

Maybe South Korean liberals are slightly different from ours, in a way. Let's take South America for example. The liberals here whine about Trump's wall. They demanded US gov to allow the migrants. So Biden and Harris did just that. In a way, South Americans (cartels, gangs, etc) are like North Korea to South Koreans.
