I need genuine non-retarded users who will have a conversation with me on if I should look into implants of osteotomies. Pm me and I’ll do a rating or whatever in return

Fire away. I’ve had bimax and cheek implants so I can shed a light on both.

hey could i pm you and can you tell me if i need bimax or implants suffice

If the question is chin implant vs osteotomy, the answer is osteotomy. It looks more natural and the result is permanent.

I had a chin wing. It was a very good result.

I wondered this why someone would get one over the other

Implants have better predictability on shaping soft tissue to a desired look.

For example, if you wanted a squared off chin, it’s far easier to get a predictable result with an implant than a widening genioplasty, which is very uncommon in the first place.

Osteotomy is king but implants have their place in some cases or if someone is desiring a very specific shape.

Fuck. Ramus is what I want to improve, my chin/first half of my jaw is pretty strong
implants. the only osteotomy i can think of for ramus length is the inverted L osteotomy, and i doubt it would even bring plausible results, not to mention that it is giga rare

I figured, just worried about them looking too blocky. I’ve seen some poor results from ramus implants

It really depends on what your issue is. Osteotomies move bone as an entire block, implants can add projection to one specific part of the bone. Someone who has retrognathia should not be trying to fix that with implants. Similarly, you wouldn't want a lefort 3 just to get better zygo projection

I would benefit the most from maxillary advancement, but also wider gonions. Everything else is fine
