living with parents forever would make life substantially easier
ur parents can take care/help raise ur kids, finances would be of minimal concern since u would only need to pay one set of bills, grandparents wouldnt feel lonely living by themselves, sense of community/unity would be much stronger, u wouldnt have to save money ur entire life to buy a house meaning u could work much less
but this doesnt provide the elites with as much profit, so it will never become a norm
