No man envisions himself ending up in a place like this.

I reflect on how my life would have turned out if I were born in an ideal society.

We should be married by our late teens or early twenties, have decent jobs, nice cars, go back to our wives and children after a day of work, invite our neighbors to barbecues, travel with our families, be around nature, go to church, read and study a lot, and pass down our values from generation to generation.

Instead, we work a 9-to-5, live paycheck to paycheck, rent a small apartment somewhere, and party ourselves to death at parties every weekend. Not a healthy lifestyle.

Agree with you completely. But we don't live in an ideal society, and we never have and never will.
You have to deal with the situation at hand and learn how to make the best of it, live life as closest as you how you want to.

In the long run, I don't want to go to raves anymore and don't want this lifestyle. I want something more like what you describe.

But on an evening like this, I simply realize that I am picking from 2 unideal situations here: Either rot at home or go to a party. And I am just maximizing my life quality by picking the least bad option in this case.

And it can actually be quite fun, make you release stress, and make you more positive in life. Thus giving you energy to get the actual lifestyle that you want.
