Ok so I am mixed Wasian. I did my DNA results, and can figure most everything else out (which I am not discussing cuz I don't want to get doxxed). What I am having problems figuring out the 5% of my DNA that is from South Asia and Central Asia. I see people here talking about Aryan, Dravidian, etc. and usually don't know what you guys are talking about. So I am going to share the results and ask people who know more about the region to see what this corresponds to. Is it Aryan, Dravidian, Tajik, Afghan, or ????? I have no clue about that area. The SE Asian component is Thai which was once ruled from Northern India so it makes sense. However Thailand didn't have last names til the 1800's so it is not possible to figure out lineage through records. So DNA is the best I got to figure out what "peoples" I am related to in South or Central Asia. Since alot of people spend a ridiculous amount of time discussing it here, I thought I'd through it out to see what you folks think it is.

OK, Kazakhstan is in the area that is highlighted. So is it safe to say that if it is in the highlighted areas that it is Indo-Aryan or perhaps Turkish? I mean it wouldn't be Dravidian if it goes that far North, would it?

I didn't see that you tagged me. I shall interpret your results right now, with the limited knowledge that I have.

I would say the results speak for themselves.. the Bengali is Indo-Aryan, but the Malayali is Dravidian. But the numbers are very low so it doesn't matter much. You must have had a distant Bengali relative ((great)great-grandparent?).

I might have. I mean it's so close to Thailand so it makes sense that it could be a possibility. So probably majority of it is Indo Aryan (given the Northern distance and Bengali--btw didn't know Bengali was Indo Aryan), and maybe a little Dravidian?

nothing special

u have blood from a few places in India

it doesn't mean anything- it's a mix of caucasian/aryan, and south Indian/dravidian

the amount of Indian you have in you is so low anyway that it doesn't matter

I have 40% Dravidian blood yet it doesn't show too much on me

you probably have 2-3% , means nothing at all.

Yeah, the majority is Indo-Aryan. I think you probably had a distant great-(great)grandparent who was a quarter Dravidian and three quarters Indo-Aryan.
