In this thread I will be talking about how zinc oxide cream can SIGNIFICANTLY help if you have inflammation prone skin, rosacea, or inflammatory acne.

As a result of its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and barrier-protective properties, zinc oxide is often found in skincare products. Zinc oxide works by reducing the activity of inflammatory mediators in the skin, such as reactive oxygen species and cytokines, which are responsible for redness, irritation, and formation of acne lesions; it also inhibits the growth of many microorganisms that are associated with skin irritation and acne. In skin problems such as rosacea or inflammatory acne, immune signaling is overactive and the skin barrier is often compromised. Zinc oxide acts as a physical barrier on the skin to suppress local immunological responses and diminish skin irritation from environmental stimuli, and may diminish irritation caused by sebum without plugging pores, reducing redness and swelling.

What does this mean for you? If you have sensitive skin, rosacea, or inflammatory acne, zinc oxide will protect your skin from further irritation while treating symptoms at the surface level. It can significantly lessen irritation, soothe flare-ups, and speed up the healing of lesions while your skin barrier heals, but it won't address underlying factors like hormones or heredity. This makes it particularly beneficial for those whose skin reacts negatively to aggressive acne treatments, exfoliating acids (such as salicylic or glycolic) or harsher actives like retinoids.

How do you apply this? Simply take a pea size amount on your finger tips and spot treat any inflamed acne spots or areas, but you can also use it all across your face as well. (I personally recommend a cream with 20-40% concentration of zinc oxide in it)

As you can see in this photo the overall inflammation has gone down significantly in just one night of use.

In summary: use it for overnight results if you have inflamed skin lol

This should work and I hope it helps honestly, if not there may be another underlying problem and zinc oxide isn’t a permanent solution just so yk, just an underrated softmaxx I see no one talk about

I havent tried anything yet tbh
What've u heard about azelaic acid?
I’ve heard it’s great for redness. Everyone I’ve seen who uses it has a really even complexion. Check it out. I recommend either 10 or 15%. 15 is prescription-only in many places though
