this took me time, not for the redaction, but the conversation with the 10 females i questioned.
The following thesis analyzes the difference between the things that first attract women to men, and the things that contribute to the durability of a long-term relationship. The research was conducted in private, one-on-one conversations with ten females, via voice and text chat on Discord, deliberately avoiding the public exposure of social signaling, along with potential group bias toward responses. The subjects exhibited neurotypical attributes, and the conversations were carried out entirely in private to encourage frankness and minimize performative responses. The small sample size and subjective nature of personal experience may limit generalizability; however, common patterns formed, and these may correlate with larger observable tendencies of human mating selection.
1: The foremost and most consistently cited factor that was described under the topic of initial attraction was physical attraction. Eight of the ten females directly indicated looks as their initial evaluation tool before even contemplating other considerations. For the other two females, attraction was located in the terms “my type,” which also serves as attraction screening, with looks being filtered by individual preference. In summation, women generally do not even seem to investigate a man's personality until an appearance threshold has been met. Physical attraction is the criteria used by women that opens the door to deeper evaluation. The absence of physical attractiveness eliminates deeper personality traits altogether.
2: After physical attraction was established, participants indicated qualities with respect to stability and safety. All mentioned the man’s being charismatic, confident, or the way the man carries himself in a social environment, and most also noted financial stability or general life stability. These are considered combined terms, as confidence and composure indicates social conditioning, and financial stability is an indicator of reliability and having the ability to maintain a stable environment. This is consistent with patterns observed in other social mammals like lions, gorillas, and wolves, where females are attracted to males that offer security and stability of resources. With humans, it is more complicated, but it follows the same underlying reasoning. Women are not solely attracted to appearance; they are attracted to a sign of security and capability as well.
3: Participants also consistently noted personality as a factor in both attraction and retention; however, personality was ideologically different for each participant. Some valued humor and confidence, while others preferred kindness and calmness. Others were attracted to mystery or emotional restraint. There was no universally agreed upon prototype of personality type, but there was universal rejection of clinginess or perceived availability in personality. This suggests that personality's role in attraction is not based on fixed traits, but on dynamically generated tension. Humans have a tendency to value things which require effort, attention and engagement. Conversely, something can be too easy or "owned" or taken immediately, leading to a perception of loss of value. Importantly, then, personality is not simply "being nice" but is representing oneself in a way that sustains interest, independence, and emotional presence, without appearing clingy or dependent.
4: In conclusion, 90% of individuals indicated that sexual satisfaction contributed significantly to the sustainability of a relationship. Penile length and the capacity to give physical pleasure were mentioned repeatedly even if they tend to be swept under the rug or sanitized in public discussions. This isn't surprising when we consider an evolutionary approach: although reproduction provides the biological basis of sexual behavior, humans engage in sexual intimacy for enjoyment, bonding, emotional regulation, and interpersonal attachment. If a relationship isn't underpinned by sexual satisfaction, it begins to erode over time, regardless of emotional compatability or stability.
