I recently noticed my upper eyelids where asymmetrical , as observed in the female below,
so I obviously thought fuck , Then I looked into this a lot and came to find an interesting SOURCE : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34652313/
And I realised this applied to me to as my higher UEE side is my left, and I religiously sleep on this side (rope fuel).

To summarise this for you lazy fucks, the study states how Upper Eye Lid height (UEE) is heavily influenced by what side you sleep on , as in for if you sleep on your left side predominantly you will have more UEE on your right side.

Based on this information what do you guys think could cause this? I had two theory’s to be taken with a PINCH OF SALT :

The blood pools on the side you sleep on leading to better blood flow , leading to more fat stores in this area.

another one I thought may be possible would be down muscles in the eye.
As you can see below the patient had Botox to atrophy there orbicularis muscles , the change in Palpebral Fissure Height is INCREDIBLE.
His PFH increased by around 30% , this shows the incredible significance of muscle hypertrophy in the face and the eye area especially (source of this @retard ) , so do you guys think this could be a reason ?

Obviously I can’t confirm any of those theories , but that’s why I wanted help from org if anyone else had any solid ideas about this.

What I will do About this :
I have decided to test myself and I am going to switch sleeping sides to see if this will correct the asymmetry over time , I am hoping one of my theory’s are correct as if this is a skeletal facial structure issue I don’t think this will correct this , it would only work if you where very very young.
I will report back results but will obviously take ages.

Thanks for reading.

Yeah I remember chico being interviewed by k shami about back sleeping and he was like yeah man I sleep wonky all the time idgaf

Reason why UEE is assymetrical is due to uneven fat pad distribution and muscles causing different levels of elevation both of which cannot be softmaxxed

fat is always being burnt and restored , as this is clearly an environmental preposition (as generics are not remotely effected) , if this was fat related as you burn and store fat in theory sleeping on the opposite side would correct this because your genetics indicate to have almost equal fat stores in either eyelid (in most cases) so the environmental factor of sleeping on one side isn’t pressing anymore , therefore your body will just follow its genetic code and store the fat equally. It’s almost like your fat stores get a reset (as fat is always burnt and produced) and place them selves on generic factors and environmental.

Only way I see this being irreversible is if it’s down to your bone structure as in for while your young and sleeping asymmetrically the pressure (for the aids you sleep on) makes your orbitals struggle to expand during sleep so they become slightly narrower and more compact , therefore less volume of fat Is needed for a ‘full’ eye area compared to the other eye. All in theory obviously.

the side you sleep on the fluid in your face pools to that side causing it to droop, best course of action is to start applying retinol to your face morning and night and sleep on your back

hmm interesting ,
However I don’t think so because by that logic if you switch sides your asymmetry would switch to the other side.
I personally think it’s down to bone structure being changed from the pressure of the pillow , or soft tissue .
This issue will only be reversible if it’s down to soft tissue .

if you feel that way then sleep on your back that way there is no pressure on either side

The attempt is to reverse what has happened so I’m gonna sleep on my opposite side .
I’ll let you know if the asymmetry disappears , as if it’s down to fluid accumulation I’m sure you can agree it will fix in a few days if I sleep opposite side.

Sleeping back wouldn’t be as effective as sleeping on my opposite side.

not that I care about reps and not like this thread was particularly very high effort either but holy fuck I can’t believe I made an actually valid thread with evidence and not just some bull shit luny toons theory ,all for 1 rep lol

I’m not trying to argue or anything like that but if it is truly bone structure being changed it will probably take more than a few days, just let me know what happens and goodluck man

I doubt there will be any change at all tbh if bone structure has been affected no matter what I do to change it,
Like i said above .
If it’s fat a few months will be ok.
If it’s fluid a week max.
