Sometimes thoughts pop into my head that I don't like. For example, if I'm near a high ledge, the thought "you should jump off!" can happen. It's very annoying.
I looked into it and basically science calls these things "intrusive thoughts" whereas everyone else calls them demons.
The scientific explanation is some long winded cope about the brain that ultimately tells you these annoying ideas originate from within yourself. The demonic explanation, that some outside force that hates you, is the origin makes a lot more sense. Edgar Allen Poe wrote a short story called "The Imp Of The Perverse" that dramatizes the demonic explanation well.
The whole "intrusive thought" vs. demon distinction is a good example of why a lot of science is bullshit.
