i had a severe malocclusion with an overbite and a posterior open bite

basically, my molars were not properly aligned and wouldn't close so my front teeth were forced forward so i could properly chew, further ruining my bite

this made my lower 3rd extremely short and i looked subhuman af, i also have a brachycephalic skull which means shorter mandible and thirds of face in general, u can imagine what this bite did to my face JFL

all i did was simply get Invisalign, it fixed my bite completely and ascended my face
my mandible was brought forward with my chin and bone would fill out in the deep bite areas giving me my true mandible size, i no longer had to fraud tooth placement to not look retarded

like 80% of niggas on here just have shitty malocclusions and bites and cope with bimax and other bullshit surgeries made for disabled people, ur life style choices are fucking u up not ur genetics

Same here, my face ratios are way better after invisalign. Only thing is if I don't wear retainers for 7+ hours my teeth start going back and it's a pretty noticable difference.

Why actually? I was thinking about either traditional braces or damon but what are the differences actyally? Costs kinda more, I heard treatment is faster and its easier to keep it clean but something else?

Can’t find direct comparisons but you can see my lips aren’t overlapping each other whereas they used to (badly) just don’t have many photos from that time.

lifefuel. im also brachyfacial and have an overbite. I tick every single of the boxes you're describing. I hope it fixes my face. I do still think that my overbite is not dental but rather skeletic, as when i look at my face from the front it looks like a blob with no bone whatsoever - recessed orbitals, zygos and maxilla. I hope this does the trick. Apart from this I'm gonna get rhino and that's it. Fillers are good if you have good bone support but since i don't, it's gonna migrate around my face and long-term it's gonna make me look like shit.

What do you mean by 'mandible brought forward'? Were you still experiencing bone growth?

If your malocclusion is mostly dental, then obv jaw surgery is not very suitable for your case. It's like a bazooka. And yes, I've come across a lot of ppl who think they need bimax when you can clearly see from the profile they have no skeletal recession.

However, to those that are actually recessed, bimax is law. If you have a significant skeletal overjet, for example, and you attempt to fix it with braces or invisalign, the only aesthetic change you'll see from the side view is that your philtrum will likely develop an inward curve to align the upper lip with the bottom. This is obviously incredibly unideal and unaesthetic, as well as being a bandage instead of an actual solution.

Rule of thumb is:

If your lower third (in profile) looks weird for some reason, get scans and see if your bone is the issue, or if it's just a matter of lip alignment.
