Iphone camera normal vs wide

I have a wide skull it's obvious,

when im holding the iphone normally my face looks so much less wide and really asymmetrical, but when im holding iphone the wide way while taking a photo my face looks so much better, wider and even it looks more symmetrical.

does wide iphone have less lens distortion or am i just retarded lmk.
