Few users saying here that 0.05% is the strength they saw big changes with. Have been using 1% retinol on wet skin with no buffer everyday so somewhat acclimated to the retinoids. Was wondering if I should go to 0.05% every other day with a heavy buffer (40 minutes after cleansing and moisturizer and occlusive ointment) or go to the 0.025% - I want very good results.

Did you get any sides? Like breakouts or dry skin?

Ok and is it cope or does it really work pls?

It is the most researched, backed up anti-aging, aging reversal, skin tightening, acne reducing thing there is. Youtube search, check this forum, look at the studies - it is not cope at all. I have noticed skin looking better but it has only been a week or so - big changes once I get prescription and after 3-4 months after initial purging and flakiness

Decreasing strength won't give u better results given your skin is acclimated

Ty dude I ordered some but I've read so much negative feedback on it I wanted to be sure

The negative feedback comes from people who apply it straight after cleansing every day from the start - you will purge (get more acne) + flake (dry skin flaking) at the start anyway but doing this will make it even worse. Just go on youtube and watch all those videos on retin-a (Dr.Drays videos, all those women who used it and follow their tips on acclimating your skin to the product). You WILL experience side effects at the start mate but know after the beginning process is over, your skill will look so much better like it's worth it for fucking sure

I've been on 0.025% for like 2 weeks and my skin has no reaction to it after I put it on, maybe I'll keep using it for a few more weeks then go up strength.

I'm well aware that what I'm about to say will be ignored but I feel like its my professional responsibility to say it anyways.

Start at the lowest strength and work your way up. Absolute worst case scenario you're going to have a few extra months before you move up. If you start too high though and then have a big reaction, you're going to have to stop completely and start again from square one (and thats without mentioning having to deal with the fallout from the reaction).

I think it's a personal thing, I've been on 0.05% for a while now and my skin is better but I still get pimples here and there (even if I use it every night), I tried 0.1% but it was way too harsh on my skin and caused dry skin, dehydration, breakouts. Once I add azelaic acid to the skincare routine I'll lower the retin-a to 3 times a week and stick to 0.05%, or even lower it to 0.025% later on if I get completely rid of acne.

I've ordered 0.025% - do you think this dose is still very effective at improving skin quality?

Start at 0.025% or end up lik @RAITEIII

@JeremyMeeks All I can say is if you start with .5, it's over

Phew, I got 0.025% - thanks a lot for convincing me @benignice
I thought he had been using 1 % for months I didn't read properly

1% retinol which I think is 100 times less effective so about 0.01% is the actual conversion.
Ordered 0.025% actual retin-a now.

Start real slow, like twice a week and work towards using it every day. Then give it a few months before hopping on .5% and don't bother with 1%

no reason to take this shit fast, it's serious stuff

Yeah that's my plan, twice a week with buffer then up frequency to 3 times and then every other day and then slowly reducing buffer - after skin's completely acclimated to daily use without buffer then switch to 0.05% and do same thing.

Lol 1% retinol Is useless,minimum 2.5%

I can guarantee you that a product claiming 2.5% retinol absolutely isn't delivering 2.5% retinol to the skin.

Yeah there is no way in hell that thats actually giving you a 2.5% retinol.

Why? It cost so much?
So firstly 20€ is not expensive for an anti ageing moisturiser. Secondly, a 2.5% retinol would be massively irritating to the skin to the point where it would be unusable. In this case (if it even is 2.5% retinoid which is doubtful but thats another issue) it is likely a blend of weaker retinoids like retinyl palmitate or retinyl propionate with a small amount of retinol to make up the 2.5% number.
