Will i be laughed at if i try to join the local club?

obviously i m not aspiring to become a pro/competitor, it just seems more entertaining, original and gives you a bigger halo than being a vapid gymcel

Yes it's too late, you will get mogged by teenagers in the ring and get completely humiliated. Don't do it, just LDAR.

nah if its just for personal training

only too late for professional

u can start now at 30 and be decent by 35

imagine asking in 10 years if if too late to start at 40 when u could have started at 30 and have 10 years of experience

Also, the accumulative hits on the head from sparring sessions will give you permanent brain damage and will make your brain look like Swiss Cheese in a CT-scan. I did boxing myself and it was a complete waste of time, yes I can throw hands in a fight but it's useless to know fighting in the modern world unless you want to be some low-level gangster or something, which is the shittiest and hardest life imaginable.

Just use that time in something more useful, like getting a college degree in a new field or whatever. Combatsportscucking is overrated and low-IQ.

Besides, foids don't give af about fighting ability anyway, they rather fuck someone white and tall with a good jaw than some combatsportscel.

surprisingly mature responses itt. there is hope for looksmaxx.

yeah, i got career sorted out, so i started thinking about a physical hobby to stay in shape. hate cardio and gym, too monotonous. swimming might be a good idea.

Hrgović doesn't have it, imo.

On the other hand:

I've always been convinced he will eventually become a world champion in boxing. He just hasn't had the opportunity yet, partly due to poor management.

Hrgović? All his wins are against trash tier opponents, everyone's clowning him for that. Idk if it's because of his manager/agency, I don't follow it that closely. He is slow and doesn't have good technique, from what I can see.

Guys like Wilder, Joshua and Whyte would destroy him.

Speaking of martial arts, I'm impressed by Adesanya's movement, looks insane (I know it's a different category).

Trash-tier opponents = poor management, he is an Olympic medalist so he should have been moved much faster. And he beat Zhang (in a very close fight but he still won), who just beat Joe Joyce, someone who was considered a top 5 heavyweight.
He's not the quickest but he is technically one of the better heavyweights, with good boxing fundamentals, decent power and a great chin (never been legitimately dropped/KOd as a pro and amateur).

Whyte is past his prime and imo, would get stopped by Hrgovic. He's slow, extremely hittable and has a very poor chin.
Joshua is a 50/50 fight. He's more athletic and explosive than the Hrgovic but like Whyte, has a poor chin and isn't fast either. Joshua's confidence is at an all-time low now and based on his last performance against Franklin, Hrgovic would probably beat him right now.

Wilder is an interesting one as they sparred with each other a long time ago

Wilder has poor technique/boxing fundamentals so Hrgovic would definitely outbox him in a fight. The question is, can Wilder catch him clean and keep in down (a fate Hrgovic has never suffered before).

This is exactly why I will never do combat sports. They undeniably cause brain damage. It's good to learn to throw a punch so you're not helpless when you get in a fight, but just LOL at sparring constantly at gyms and melting your frontal lobe.

I do think that Hrgovic loses to both Fury and Usyk though

idk, you obviously know much more about this than me. i don't follow boxing and other combat sports because the format of competitions is retarded, imo. and i still have traumas from the Klitschko brothers. you could use tapes of their fights to fall asleep.

yeah, didn't even mention them because it's obvious he's got nothing on those 2

Competitively, you should be fine, just don't expect to be world ender unless you were competing at something at a young age. Sure, you can probably grind your ass off an pull a belt, but you would really have to go 100% into it, so nothing else, that's what most overlook for kids getting into it, they can put most of their time into it while they are also developing.

==============================

So I would never say you couldn't pull a belt from someone, I just wouldn't expect you to be the next world ender, simple as that, and even that is an assumption, I don't know the actual answer.

Put simply, start now.

30 is too late to become professional or prominent in anything

You can do it as a hobby tho

nah, my ambitions are nowhere near that. just want to get in shape and, as a bonus, learn to fight, since right now i'd probably look like a 12 yo girl if i got into a fight with someone (this applies to 90% of men too, from what I've seen)

and kickboxing seems like the best option; classic boxing has boomer vibes, and karate and similar gook disciplines look ridiculous. won't even mention wrestling, which is more homosexual than sex with men.

Yeah, my bad, 100% start now, you are just losing time if you don't. lol Plus, older guys are better because they leave their ego at the door, and they spar with humility, so you will always have partners and you will get better faster.

Just humble yourself at the door and you will be fine. For now, get the cardio going, you will need it.

Look for a smart camp too, OP. Make sure they are good people, don't go to any dudebro gyms. Current place I'm training right now is led by a woman, a judo champ, this lady is a monster, but most importantly, she is smart and respectful and expects that of all trainers and trainees. The perfect environment. I think back to my wrestling days, all that brutality was just injury after injury, fucking hated most of my coaches. That mentality will hold you back, health is wealth.

i already have a couple of crews for futsal and pick up basketball, so my cardio is not even that bad considering my weight. might add this to my schedule, better than having some numale hobbies like binge-watching netflix garbage or making youtube videos

some of my friends are into rowing, but that seems boring as fuck to me + I have thalassophobia

That's good, that's the only thing I would say matters before going in, just stay on top of nutrition and recovery, and i stress being fit, because when you get tired, you are prone to doing something that causes injury. Always mitigate injury, that kills careers, of course, but you don't want to be walking out with injuries that impact your daily life, especially if you aren't competing.

But yeah, older people are perfect for gyms, when I look up at the door and hear a new person coming in, it's the youngest people you are on edge about because you don't know if it's going to be "one of those" people that have no business training, people that don't respect others.

Not if you want some amateur fights. If you're trying to be pro, unless you are just gifted, then it might be too late. There was a top contender in the 1970s named Ron Lyle. He spent his 20s in prison. He got into boxing in his late 20s and turned pro at 30 after he was released. He actually was pretty good and had a very hard punch. But he was very talented though.

nah, obviously me trying to go pro at this age and shape would be a 50 IQ idea.

i just see this as a better alternative to lifting plates or running in parks like a retard

If you're doing it to get in shape and know some self defense or even get a few local fights under your belt, go for it.
