I just got epiduo prescribed, what's the difference between epiduo and retin a ?, the doctor said that I should try epiduo first and if it does not work for my acne I will get retin a instead. My skin looks really dull and unhealthy. Could epiduo help?. Anyone here that has tried it and knows how it compares to retin a?.

adapelene is a third generation retinoid whereas retin a is a first generation retinoid. So retin a is much stronger and they each activate different retinoid receptors, retin a alpha receptor and adapelene beta receptor if I remember correctly.

Speaking as someone who has used both, they are both very good products, adapelene is very good for most acne but as far as ‘the glow’ and collagen are concerned, retin a mogs hard, hydration is really important for good, healthy looking skin too, pm me if you want more advice, I can give product recommendations and shit too

Yeah okay, well my main goal is to get rid of all my acne. But I also want that healthy "glow", I will use adapelene for a while and if I'm not happy with the results I guess I will have to lie in order to get "retin a" prescribed :lul:. Problem is that here in Scandinavia there is only one option for retin a and that is clindamycin + tretinoin 10 mg/g + 0,25 mg/g which maybe is not enough.

This is treclin right?
also used that and it is very good for acne, cleared mine up completely, depends how severe yours is.

you can order retin a from alldaychemist.com without a prescription btw

fyi tretinoin 0.05% has been shown to work more effectively against acne than 0.1% adapelene, but comes with a higher potential for irritation
