I don't really believe in trauma as something other than genetic neuroticsm. How do they know if someone has trauma? They ask a person, and that's where the bias comes in. You can't just ask people if they think they experienced something traumatic as they'll just tell you how they interpreted something that happened. Do you think being sexually abused and almost dying in a contrentration camp has to be objectively a traumatic event, right? No, if you look at studies from holocaust survivors, still a large percentage of them didn't experience ANY ptsd or depression symptoms. What if when I was a kid once my toy fell of a table and broke? What if that was traumatic for me? You see, it's only about how you will subjectively interpret stuff, which comes down to genetics.
