Is being super lean good or bad?

So I like the gym alot, the only problem is when you get more muscle mass and become "lean" its losing JUST enough fat to show off the muscles, when your 180 pounds at 6foot your carrying more fat than a person who is less "lean" just because your overall bigger. I was wondering at 6 foot should I get to 175 but lean asf to lost most my fat for my face? ofc bones play a big part of it but not everyone has the bonemass to me 200lb

kinda, but you need the genetics for it. I'm 16 asian live in southern california and I eat whatever the fuck i want. at least i can. Ive been staying off processed foods and seed oils and surgary shit cause i wanna looksmaxx but if i did whatever i want, slept whenever i want, trianed however i want, and did whatever I want I would still be lean and somewhat jacked. mostly genetics and working out in middle school

i can't blame, cause i have a friend who also eats whatever he wants and stays lean. when i just eat a bit i easily bloated my stomach and face :feelsohgod:

I eat what i want too, i run, go to the gym, and do mma almost everyday

a mixture of both, genetically I move a lot (hyperactive) because of that it allows me to burn more calories throughout the day (this is called NEAT). Examples are like jittinger my leg, walking my dogs for miles, talking a lot, and just overall being more active than the normal person will bring your metabolism be higher. My calorie maintenance is littlerly at 3500 also I don't like to eat a lot so that's genes

You ideally have to stay n a specific range, given health is your primary goal.
Around 12-16% of body fat is ideal. Many models are below that though. So ultimately it depends on your motivations.

Generally there are rarely any benefits of going below 10%. If your bones do not sufficiently show at that level, you are either too young or you simply have unideal fat distribution alongside more gracile/ less prominent bones.

I prefer the face gains, over the slight muscular or size gains from not being lean. As a natty, you'll probably look DYEL in most of your clothes anyway. Might as well get lean for the face gains.

Yeah i mean thats true, Just rather be functional for my sport also. Just trying to stay middle weight

It'd be hard to stay so lean you feel impaired in your day-to-day, as a natty. That's not sustainable, but something like 12% which is moderately lean should be and would still be great for most athletic sports.

Yeah that is very true but genetically I have a high calorie maintenance so it should be easy for me

You don't need to be "very" lean. You just need to be lean. Enough to have some ab definition, but not where you're starving all the time. Like 12% bodyfat is goated. This is more important if you're natty. Roided people can get really lean and still be huge and filled out and big in shirts.
