is buzz cutting a damaged hair a good idea?

my hair is kinda damaged so i was thinking about doing buzz cut and letting it grow out again but...

hair literally saves me and i kinda look lame without it so im really considering it

any suggestions?

so it may be worth tackling the issue of your hair being unhealthy rather than just shaving it off. I had unhealthy hair at one point. Didn't have to shave it for it to be healthy again.

All that shaving does is remove the hair shaft which may be damaged due to bad styling habits.

So in theory buzz cutting it removes that apart but if you stick to bad habits the shaft will be damaged again
